Water Loss Week 2019. was held in Sarajevo

Water Loss Week 2019 was held in Sarajevo from September 9 to 13. Two academies were held as part of this event, both of which consisted of theoretical lectures held at the International Multimedia Centre for Children and Youth and practical exercises at Water Loss training centre.

The first level of the academy was intended for participants who did not attend last year’s academy, and was dedicated to systems with continuous water supply and classical methods of leak detection, while the second level of the academy offered lectures on reducing losses in water supply utilities with interruptions in water supply and detection exercises with Tracer gas, digital correlators and classical detection in conditions of reduced pressure in the system.

There was a total of 108 participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia, while the lecturers and trainers were renowned experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Serbia and Germany.

The first level of the academy was opened by the Minister of Communal Economy of Canton Sarajevo Government, Mr. Srđan Mandić, while the second level of the academy was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo, Mr. Edin Forto.

On the fifth day of Water Loss Week 2019, an optional study visit was organized to the well-known Sarajevo resort Vrelo Bosne, location from where the city of Sarajevo is mostly supplied with water.

The next Water Loss Week will take place in September 2020.
