Water Loss d.o.o. will be working on a project in East Africa for the next 5 years, dedicating 4 months each year to this initiative. This time, we are traveling to Malawi, where we will collaborate with the American company FEI (Washington) as an independent international verification agent.

Our task is to assess the outcomes at the end of each fiscal year using 5 selected indicators of success for the water supply system in Blantyre, located in southern Malawi. Based on our analysis and results, funds from the World Bank will be disbursed to the Blantyre water utility.

NEW PROJECT IN TIRANA (ALBANIA)

Water Loss d.o.o. has signed a contract with the German consulting firm CES Consulting Engineers Salzgitter GmbH to participate in the “Feasibility Study for the Tirana Water Supply and Distribution Project.” Our responsibilities will include developing the IWA Water Balance for the entire city and calculating water demand in areas where a high-pressure ring and 60 DMA zones will be constructed.

This year’s Water Loss Academy 2021 in Kumbor near Herceg Novi (Montenegro)

The Water Loss Academy 2021 took place in Kumbor, Herceg Novi, Montenegro, from September 7th to 10th, 2021.

This year’s academy was part of the project “Action for Increasing Energy and Water Efficiency in Water Supply Services,” within the IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The aim was to achieve long-term resource efficiency in the water supply sector.

WATER LOSS D.O.O. ON A NEW PROJECT IN TAJIKISTAN

Water Loss d.o.o. Sarajevo has signed a contract today with the large multinational company BDO (Binder Dijker Otte) to participate in a project in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. The project, “Institutional Capacity Building in the Dushanbe Water Utility,” will run for two years and is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Dushanbe has a population of 820,000, which is expected to increase due to ongoing migration from rural areas to the city.

Successful completion of the first phase of the NRW reduction Project in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia)

On the last day of May 2020, the first phase of the non-revenue water reduction project in Jeddah was successfully completed.

The main objective of project – continuous water supply to all consumers in Jeddah as well as the reduction of leakage time (time from its occurrence to its detection) to 24 hours, got achieved with the establishment of 25 “Smart Zones”, the reconstruction of individual parts of the system, installation of more than 300 pressure and flow meters and a network of noise loggers connected to the SCADA system.
